Station Masses
The practice of celebrating the Eucharist, on turn, in the homes of the parish is an ancient tradition which appears to have lost its appeal for many today.
The Eucharist is central to the life of a Christian and celebrating it in a home right at the heart of the lives of the people brings it closer to one and all.
This practice also affords everyone an opportunity to meet their neighbours and celebrate with them, and puts the focus firmly back on community at a time when sociologists have begun to be concerned about what they call “cocooning - turning your back on the world to live in your own family space with the drawbridge up”.
Station Masses are normally celebrated during the harvest months and again during Lent but may be celebrated at any other time.
Those who wish to continue this practice in their Station area should contact the Parish Priest.
